I have always found it so odd to meet someone and think, "This is one of my people!" and then realize that because I'm not where I live or they're not where they live, we will never really be in each other's lives for long. But I did manage to turn a couple of online friends who live in other states into IRL friends through texts and snail mail. We have vowed to meet one day. I'm no longer sure that will happen, but the thought is nice.
